CHLORELLA VULGARIS

Microalgae

Chlorella Vulgaris is a 100% natural light-green microalgae. It is resistant to high temperatures and maintains its organoleptic properties unchanged. It is rich in bioactive compounds including carotenoids (lutein, astaxanthin and fucoxanthin) and Omega-3 (EPA+DHA).
FUNCTIONS:
  • Defends the digestive system
  • Improves shine and quality of the coat
  • Purifying: eliminates toxins in the blood
  • Antioxidant and antidiabetic
  • Fights macular degeneration
  • Protects eyesight
  • Relieves joint pain

“Clinical trials have suggested that supplementation with C. vulgaris can ameliorate amelioration hyperlipidemia and hyperglycemia, and protect against oxidative stress, cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.” (YUNES P., BEHRAD D., NARGES J., FATEMEH B., AMIRHOSSEIN S. (2016), “CHLORELLA VULGARIS: A MULTIFUNCTIONAL DIETARY SUPPLEMENT WITH DIVERSE MEDICINAL PROPERTIES”, PUBMED, DOI:10.2174/1381612822666151112145226)

“Chlorella supplementation to mammals, including humans, has been reported to exhibit various pharmacological activities, including immunomodulatory, antioxidant, antidiabetic, antihypertensive, and antihyperlipidemic activities. Meta-analysis on the effects of Chlorella supplementation on cardiovascular risk factors have suggested that it improves total cholesterol levels, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and fasting blood glucose levels but not triglycerides and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels. These beneficial eects of Chlorella might be due to synergism between multiple nutrient and antioxidant compounds.” (TOMOHIRO BITO, ERI OKUMURA, MASAKI FUJISHIMA, FUMIO WATANABE, 2020, POTENTIAL OF CHLORELLA AS A DIETARY SUPPLEMENT TO PROMOTE HUMAN HEALTH)

“Supplementation of microalgae Chlorella vulgaris led to enhanced antioxidant enzymes activities as well as increased concentration of reduced glutathione; these are indicators that the alga has strong antioxidant capabilities.” (AB SIKIRU, A. ARANGASAMY, IC ALEMEDE, P.R. GUVVALA, S.SA EGENA, J.R. IPPALA, R. BHATTA (2019), CHLORELLA VULGARIS SUPPLEMENTATION EFFECTS ON PERFORMANCES, OXIDATIVE STRESS AND ANTIOXIDANT GENES EXPRESSION IN LIVER AND OVARIES OF NEW ZEALAND WHITE RABBITS, PMCID: PMC6819843)

ECHINACEA PURPUREA

Herbaceous Plant

Echinacea Purpurea is a plant of the Asteraceae family, whose extracts are traditionally used to stimulate the immune system from seasonal infectious diseases: it stimulates phagocytosis and the increase in number of leucocytes and also it has an anti-inflammatory effect.

FUNCTIONS:

  • Counteracts urinary tract infections
  • Protects against respiratory tract infections
  • Actively works on otitis and dermatitis
  • Prevents cystitis, mycosis, and mastitis
  • Speeds up the scarring process

“The immune stimulatory ability of E. purpurea extracts may have a therapeutic potential to regulate the protection and recovery of immune responses.” (AMIRA M K ET AL, 2007. PHYTOTHERAPEUTIC EFFECTS OF ECHINACEA PURPUREA IN GAMMA-IRRADIATED MICE, DOI: 10.4142/JVS.2007.8.4.341)

“The action of this plant is based on a non-specific stimulation of the immune system. The clinical pictures treated included pharyngitis/tonsillitis, bronchitis and canine cough…. As the quality and stability of the treatment used in the study were defined and confirmed by examinations, the data from this study indicate that the Echinacea preparation can be recommended as a well-tolerated alternative for the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections in dogs.” (REICHLING J ET AL, 2003. ECHINACEA IN POLVERE: TRATTAMENTO PER TOMAIA CANINA CRONICA E STAGIONALEINFEZIONI DEL TRATTO RESPIRATORIO.

“Significant reductions of severity and resolution of typical clinical symptoms, of clear nasal secretions, enlargement of lymph nodes, dry cough, dyspnea and dry lung sounds, were evident aer 4 weeks. […] these data suggest that the Echinacea preparation can be recommended as a well tolerated alternative treatment of canine upper respiratory tract infections.” (REICHLING J ET AL, 2003. ECHINACEA IN POLVERE: TRATTAMENTO PER TOMAIA CANINA CRONICA E STAGIONALEINFEZIONI DEL TRATTO RESPIRATORIO. SCHWEIZER ARCHIV FUR TIERHEILKUNDE, 145, 223-231)

CURCUMA LONGA

Herbaceous Plant

Curcuma Longa is a perennial herbaceous plant, native to tropical Asia, from which curcumin is obtained. Curcumin is a bioactive molecule with an antioxidant effect and can exert regulatory effects on the intestinal microbiota.

FUNCTIONS:

  • Defends the digestive system
  • Protects the liver
  • Counteracts tumors
  • Antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory
  • Antidiabetic and detoxifying
  • Relieves joint pain

“The immune stimulatory ability of E. purpurea extracts may have a therapeutic potential to regulate the protection and recovery of immune responses.” (AMIRA M K ET AL, 2007. PHYTOTHERAPEUTIC EFFECTS OF ECHINACEA PURPUREA IN GAMMA-IRRADIATED MICE, DOI: 10.4142/JVS.2007.8.4.341)

“Curcumin has different pharmacological and biological effects that have been described by both in vitro and in vivo studies, and include antioxidant, cardio-protective, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, nephro-protective, anti-neoplastic, hepato-protective, immunomodulatory, hypoglycaemic and anti-rheumatic effects.” (FRANCESCA P. ET AL, 2019, CURCUMIN AND TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS: PREVENTION AND TREATMENT, PUBMED, DOI:10.3390/- NU11081837.)

“The feed with curcumin showed lower protein oxidation, lipid peroxidation and higher total antioxidant capacity…it was concluded that curcumin improved animal health, with emphasis on the stimulation of the antioxidant system and evidence of an anti-inflammatory eect.” (CAMPIGOTTO G ET AL, DOG FOOD PRODUCTION USING CURCUMIN AS ANTIOXIDANT: EFFECTS OF INTAKE ON ANIMAL GROWTH, HEALTH AND FEED CONSERVATION, 2020 OCT;74(5):397-413. DOI: 10.1080/1745039X.2020.1769442)
